“We didn’t have a blueprint — just talent, heart, and a group chat that never slept.”

In 2011, three HBCU grads fresh out of undergrad launched a creative collective with one mission: make beautiful things and tell real stories. From dorm rooms to editing suites, Young Educated Sistahs LLC became a space for us — Black women with vision — to create on our own terms.

We started small: senior portraits for friends, event flyers for student orgs, campus videos with grainy audio and big dreams. But our ambition was never small. Over the next ten years, we turned that hustle into a business — doing everything from photo shoots and mini-docs to graphics, brand launches, and full-scale campaigns. Our clients came from the same communities we came from. And our work? It felt like home.

We were doing digital storytelling before it had a name. And we did it without fancy funding, industry connections, or big budgets. Just WiFi, whatever gear we could afford, and a whole lot of collaboration.
