In regions east of Atlanta, where art centers and events are notably scarce, and available spaces are limited, local artists and businesses encounter the challenge of expanding into other parts of the city for success. Recognizing this gap, Katrina Jarrell, a local community activist and Stone Mountain native, conceived the New Atlanta Workshop. This two-part fundraiser and arts showcase, with free admission for all, aimed to spotlight the wealth of local talent and businesses in the area, united by the central theme: “Do It for the Culture.”

OBJECTIVES

Cultural Awareness Campaign: Raise awareness of arts and culture on the Eastside of Atlanta through strategic Facebook and Instagram sharing.

Online Engagement Drive: Encourage and secure up to 20 vendors and/or artist sign-ups through effective online promotion.

Financial Goal: Raise $500 to fund the next New Atlanta Workshop.

CHALLENGES

New Event Promotion: Navigate the challenges of introducing a new event in the local community and attract attendees, artists, and participants.

Streamlined Donations: Encourage people to donate via various channels while simplifying the donation process.

STRATEGY

Implemented a comprehensive, multi-faceted approach that harnessed the power of social media platforms and local community engagement.

Collaborated with local leaders, businessmen, and celebrities to garner support and achieve the set objectives.
