In my role as a Social Media Specialist at iHeartMedia in Albany, GA, I actively contributed to numerous impactful station events for 96.3 WJIZ and 98.1 Kiss FM. These events, often organized for charitable purposes or to benefit the community, included the Steve & Marjorie Turkey Giveaway, a 5K run for HIV/AIDS research, various Christmas Giveaways, Back to School drives, Fundraisers, and more. Throughout these initiatives, not only did I, but the entire iHeart team, engaged in comprehensive support, providing everything from flyers and promotions to live event coverage, photography, and video highlights, embodying our commitment to giving back to the community we proudly serve.
OBJECTIVES
Informative Outreach: Notify the public of upcoming events, locations, and requirements, and simplify the process of finding information.
Multifaceted Promotions: Create diverse promotional content, including videos, photos, radio spots, graphics, etc., to raise awareness of events.
Document Success: Chronicle the success of events through video and photo highlights posted on the station website, YouTube, and social media.
CHALLENGES
Logistical Hurdles: Challenges related to commuting to the actual events for charity drives.
Shift in Social Media Trends: Adapting to the shift from photo-based to video-based content consumption, with users often scrolling past flyers and photos.
Event Visibility: Lack of awareness in the community due to insufficient event promotions, leading to late discoveries.
Community Outreach: Despite numerous community events, limited visibility in local communities.
STRATEGY
